Transcript | 729 South 12th St Philadelphia 22nd Jany [January?] 1870 Dear Bob I am in receipt of your letter, and feel disappointed at not getting the Deed back before this, go to Joe and see when he and his wife will sign the Deed, or better let Joe and you ride up with the Commissioner of Deeds for Pennsylvania, if his wife is sick - I am very anxious to have this matter settled immediately as I don't want to run the risk of Joe's Creditors coming down on my property, especially as I am unable to work and as it is not likely I will be long living - at my death whatever little property I have I will leave for the support of my Father and Mother and at their death I intend it will be equally divided between you and Joe, so without further delay go and see Joe show him this letter and fix the matter at once by him and his wife signing the Deed, and save me the journey to New York - in haste I am Your Affectionate Brother James Buchanan |
