Transcript | Belfast 7th of March 1822 Dear Sir we have rec`d [received?] the truly disstressing [distressing?] account of John's Death with the most heart felt [heartfelt?] regret, the disstress [distress?] this deplorable event will cause in your Family we can more justly conceive than those who have never experienced the loss of so beloved a Friend _____ [We Feel?] it would be vain for us to offer you any consolation, but it will certanily [certainly?] be a source of much Comfort to you to reflect on those Religious, and moral precepts which in the hands of Providence you were the means of instilling into his young mind, and by which he was enabled to pass through this world Free from the [snares?] of vice and we trust to enter on a glorious Immortality every day [I?] experience [?] to teach us more that in this world we may expect only trials and [?] and affliction and [?] that day is fast approaching when we hope to meet our dear Friends in another and a better world with kindest love to all your family [& all your Sister family?] [illegible] [addressed to:] Mr John Love Banbridge |
