My Dear William
I got your kind letter enclosing
the circular and here I am safe & even looking
forward to a pleasant run across to the
New World the Captain is a very agreeable
kind man & seems anxious to make
us comfortable & if was not the parting
from dear kind friends me thinks I would
be just happy but hope whispers we
will meet again on Earth if not God grant
we may in Heaven.

The wind is unfavorable so we must
stop here to it changes which I hope
will be soon. If a certain event in
your family happens before 1st [Port?] will you
be kind enough to write to me care of or
enclosed to Mrs Weir. I will be most anxious
to hear from you, of course you will also
mention anything that may occur in
the Killygordon family they have always
been kind most kind to me.

Give my love to Fanny & Lizzy [?]
mention of her Name makes a [big?] child of me
She is a dear sweet child Oh that He who rules
all events & disposes of every blessing may
pour down his choisest [choicest?] blessings on her head
and make her path smooth through this cold
calculating World. With love to all
around you fireside.

I am my dear William
[ever?] yours sincerely

[B?] [Gwynne?]
