| Transcript | Queens Chambers Pirie St. Adelaide October 25th 1892 My dear Mother I don't know whether to write to you, Agnes or Johnny, but you can thank Agnes for the photos for me and acknowledge the receipt of Johnny's letter. The views of Gort and the river renew old scenes in memory. Agnes as she is I know only by hearsay. She must be a good looking girl, as my articled clerk says the photo resembles— me. I am glad our remittance to the Church, though small, was so acceptable. Mrs. Madden is evidently coming out by the next boat. Eugene is getting on well. I have just run up articles of partnership between him and Dr. Bennett, his new partner. His late one, Dr. J. A. S. Hamilton, says they ought to easily net £1000 a year each. Lizzy and her family are in good spirits, but I don't think good health or funds. Times are too bad, and my presence here indispensable, or I would run over to see how she is. However, I won't let her get altogether stumped, and intend to try, a difficult business, to get something to do for her youngest son Jack.
