Transcript | Mr Thomas Allen Dear Sir: I this day forwarded to you Sarah Morgans Bill on Mrs Sarah Monteith of Castle Street, Newry, dated 21st June at thirty days for twenty five pounds Irish amount of which you will be pleased to pay my good mother in part of the annual sum allowed her by me as a mark of my duty and filial affection. All our young friends are well and doing as well as could be expected. They are making improvements in many respects the benefits of which they will reap hereafter. I expect to leave this place for Philadelphia in fifteen days. You will direct to me thus as before advised until the middle of August and after that to this place as usual. Urge all our young friends to improve their minds by reading, to be good spellers, understand the meaning of all the words in the large dictionary and also write a fine large and small hand and if possible understand the English grammar. Tender my love to all friends and to my good mother, sisters, brothers and their partners and Believe me to be your friend. John Campbell Ship Wm.[William?] Penn |
