My dear Sir
I wrote you last on the
17th Inst. I have sold your Ninety Seven (97«) and a half
shares of Stock in the Augusta Insurance and Banking Company
at One hundred and five Dollars $105. p [per?] share and
have this day transferred the same under your favour of
the 3d ulto [ultimo?] viz. Sixty shares to [Carey?] Woods
and Thirty seven & a half shares to Wm. M. D'Autignac
(the President of the Company). the whole amounting to Ten
Thousand two hundred & thirty seven dollars & fifty Cents
$10,237. 50
I regard to reinvestment and remittance, I purpose to
purchase as much of the Rail Road Stock as will make up your
number to Forty 40 - and to divide the remittance of the
remainder between Bills of Exchange and Upland Cotton;
though the latter keeps advancing. The stock of the Bank
of Augusta is inquired for at $108. and the Gr [Georgia?]
R Road [railroad?] B. Co. at 106$ cotton from 8 c 10 cents.
