| Transcript | Savannah April 21 1853 Dear Brother I write you as I will not be ready for sea before the 1st of may as this is a 1200 ton ship that is her register mind she carries 34 men & a Cargo of 4000 Bales of cotton and 230 loads of timber. She is one of them I have got full command the Deceased Capt Turner's wife was down on board yesterday with me and she is coming to Liverpool with us She is longer to load than I expected. I hope to have a passage to Liverpool as it will pay me better as it is a lump sum about Å“60 I have for the run. I am going to write to the owners in Liverpool before I sail from this I dont expect to remain by her any longer than I get her over.
