Transcript | Savannah April 21st 1853 Dear Brother I write you as i [I?] will not be ready for sea before the 1st May as she is over a 1200 ton ship that is her Register Mind She Carries 34 Men and a Cargo of 4500 Bales of Cotton and 250 Loads of timber. She is one of them i [I?] have got full Command the Deceased Captain Turner Wife was Down on Board with me and She is Coming to Liverpool with us She longer to Load than i [I?] expected. I hope to have a Passage to Liverpool as it will pay me Better, as it is a Lump Sum about 60/2 pounds have for the Run, i [I?] am going to write to the Owners in Liverpool before i [I?] sail from this and Dont [don't?] Expect to Remain by her any Longer than i [I?] get her over Write to Liverpool by the 20th May - this leaves me in good health thank God hoping this will put you all in [---?] Direct Captain S.
