| Transcript | To Haliday & Dunbar, Liverpool 22 May 1756 Gentlemen: We are this moment favoured with your Letter of 20th January to our WC & observe the Contents. Shall credit your account the sundry sums you mention for premiums. If the Bounty on on the Naval Stores by the Loisea is to go to the Buyer, the Sale is A very Poor one indeed, as Tar at the time you mention was sold in London at 13s and in Bristol at 10s to 12s per Barrel & Pitch & Turpantine from 6s to 6/6 per hundredweight & the bounty to the owner. Be the case as it will, I am convinced you made the most of them and am fully satisfyed. Shall Debit your account for the fourth cost of the Johnson4 & Lumber. Mr. William Halidays affair with A&D will soon be ended after the Johnson arrival. He need not be affraid. We have full as many Friends as they, & the best cause. If it had not been for T. Doughty, we could [have] setled readily with the other Partner, who believe to be a very Honest man.
