TranscriptTo Capt. John Nealson, Master of the snow Prince of Wales

29 May 1756
Sir:

Tho I dont expect you soon, yet least I should be agreeably disappointed,
I will write you now.
Since you left this, we have had frequent alarms that the officers were at
last resolved to Seize every thing come in their way, which they have now
confirmed by seizing several parcels of goods. I would think it very
prudent whatever goods you have on Freight you immediately deliver Mr.
John Loyd. Send me an Express as soon as you arive, & I shall send up
Sloops to take in Our goods & proceed with them to Philadelphia Where
I am well informed they may be lodged with Safety. The quantity of
goods now landed in New England makes me think it will be imprudent to
land Our goods there. About this you & Mr. Loyd must consult & as you
see prudent act. You may depend I shall make no delay to dispatch you
Sloops after I receive your Letter.
I have wrote to N Carolina to get A clearance for your Snow which I
soon expect. This will enable us to enter her here. Daniel arrived 26th
Instant, as did Captain Car. Both had Six weeks passage. WC
