We are now favoured with yours of the 21st February enclosing Invoice & Bill of Lading for sundrys by the Betsey, Captain Corny, for account of our Thomas Greg. She is safe arrived, but we look upon her Cargoe to be in great danger of being Seized. It's possible things may turn out better then we expect, but they have a most terrible aspect at present. We dont in the least doubt if you send us your Palantines but we shall be able to give you satisfactory sales & remittances. We have talked to Captain Wilkenson & let him know we would immediatly load any Vessel he would buy for your account tho he has a very great desire to be in your imploy. He is determined to wait to he hears from you, unless he meets a very great bargain. We must add we think his resolutions are prudent & shoes A great regard for your Interest. Logwood now sells at £10 per Ton, & we believe wont be lower to the Vessels now loading for Europe are dispatched, which will be about the Midle of July, when we expect, if times continue as they are at present or A Peace is concluded, it may come to your limitts when shall execute your order with the greatest regard for your Interest.
