Transcript | To John McMichael, Philadelphia 14 June 1756 Sir: I am favoured with yours of the 9th & 10th Instant & observe the contents. I wont do anything with white. He will want my assistance when this little hurry is over, & shall want it. I imagin Mr.Meases Ship will cary 160 Tons of Logwood. She ought to carry more by what she stogs. There is no geting any Freight for Iron from this to London. All our loading from this is Logwood & Rice, which makes A Vessel very deep, & the Freight of it is £3 per Ton. Pray tell Mr. West the Bill is accepted. If you can buy Stewarts Brig for £400 or under, I will hold a half in her to bring her round here to load for Hamburg with Logwood. I believe we can get £3.9.0 Sterling per Ton Freight for her, but would choose to load her on our own account & the proceeds of the Cargo to be laid out in Tea, & with it proceed to your place directly. The Brigg Brantford, John Wallace Master, is lossed. I shall send you the proofs by next post. This last week has been A very unlucky One to me. I hope its over. Be off or on About Stewarts Brigg next Post. WC |
