Transcript | Transcribed from the Belfast Newsletter of 13 Feb 1797. Extract from a letter from the Captain of the Adventure :- This will inform you of my being captured on the 30th. ult., with seven others off Beachy head, by the Unity and Ferrott luggers of Boulougne who also ran on shore seven more brigs near Newhaven. The privateers and their prizes arrived safe here yesterday morning, but as it was blowing at the time very hard only two of them got in here. The Adventure and another got into Gravelines and the rest into Dunkirk. |
