Transcript | To John Scott & John McMihael, Philadelphia12 August 1756 Dear Gentlemen: I am favoured with yours of the 7th Instant & have noted the Severall sums as made by you. I find the Chest of Arms Marked SV belongs to Mr. Samuel Van horn of this Place, so please to have it delivered to his Order. I can give no Other reason for Thomas Wallaces imprudent proceeding at Marquess Hook2 then that he is Concerned for the most fearfull man ever was known. I suppose these proceedings was by his directions. Take Care the Chests of Arms are not proportioned in settlement of Charges equal with the tea. They ought not to bear more then Half. I am affraid it will [be] hard to Serve you in your affair at St. aCrose, but shall make further enquiry & let you know. What I wanted the Spannish hydes [for] was to ship by John Nealson to holland. But now as he dis not go, I am off with them. I want to freight a Vessel of 100 to 120 Tons to Rotterdam, Amsterdam, or Hamburgh. If you can get one of that Burthen to come round here directly & load a; £4 Sterling per ton for Logwood & Coffee, & 2s Each for spannish Hydes free of Primage & avenge, please Charter her. If you can get Stewart to go Master of her, it would be yet more agreeable to me. Incase you freight this Vessel, you may buy the Spanish Hydes, if good & ship by her. They ought to Weigh 22 pounds each at least. Send round the three bales of ozenbriggs by first Opportunity by Water. In the mean time, woud be Obliged to you to let me know the Numbers of them.
