Gentlemen:

We were at a great Loss what to ship you the value of the money of
yours in our hands, in as by Our advices from Jamaica & your Friend Mr.
Cury of Philadelphia, there was no sort of Northward Produce that had
the Least prospect to answer, in particular with the high Freight that's
added to it by War.
You have inclosed Bill of Lading & Invoice of 21 Boxes of Spermacety
Candles amounting to £118.18.0 is to your Debit in account. We heartily
wish they may arrive safe & to a good Market. They are good in their kind.
We credit you for Apthorp & sons bill on Thomlinson & Hanbury
received from Captain Stoddard £57.11.0 Sterling which we sold at 85
per Cent Exchange is £106.9.5 Currency.
If any promising scheme offered, we will at all [times] be ready to
be concerned [in] it, so [long as] any pan of the Transactions is to rest
with us.
Incase Captain Hathorn is in Jamaica when this reaches you, We beg
you may assist him to get a freight to England. His Owners are good Men
& we are convinced will lake all opportunitys to return any favours you
do him. He sailed from St. Eustatia for Jamaica the 25th September. We
dont know what could detain him so long. G&C
