Gentlemen:

Your Esteemed Favour of the 3rd September came to Hand the 6th
nstant. Agreeable to your orders we have taken Freight in the Ship
Vaddell, Charles Stewart Master, for one hundred Hogsheads of Flaxseed
or your account which you may Depend we Shall Ship as good & as
heap as any from this place but are Sorry to inform you, by the
tnprudence of a Gentleman in the trade, the price is raised from 4 to 6s
per Bushell. It is now Brought down to 5/4 & 5/6 per Bushell, but we
expect it will be up again. We are in hopes that we Shall be able to
averge our Flaxseed at 28/6 Sterling per Hogshead. The freight is to be
as Customary from this place but is not yet fixed.
You may Depend we Shall have a particular regard to your Directions
about Insurance. G&C
