| Transcript | Bonemain, April 16th 1832 Dearly Beloved uncles and aunts if in the Land of the Living I take this favourable opportunity of writing By Mr John Wilson and family to let you know that my Mother and Sister Margret is still Living And uncle William And Aunt Rebecca uncle John and Robert Porter and uncle John Glenn and Family and Carnamaddy Freinds and Inch freinds we are all [in] Good health at present thanks be to the Great Giver of all our Mercies hoping these few Lines will find you and your families enjoying the Like Blessings [.] we have sent several Letters since my fathers Decease and never Received an answer which made us consider that you had forgot all your old freinds [.] we would feel Grateful if you would show A Disposition to Renew A Correspondence that might be usefull to Both parties [.] we would be Glad to have an answer as soon as possible to know how many is Living or Dead among our freinds in that part of the world [.] we think Robert Scott ungrateful as he made A Good Deal of fair promises that he would Give us an opportunity of hearing from you and how to Direct our Letters [.] George mc Arthur sailed in the same ship with Robert Scott and he Remarked when he Left us that as soon as his means would allow he would go Back that part of the Country [.] we hear he is still Living About new York [.] there is no particulars among your freinds or old Neighbours but Mr Wilson and family can make you acquainted with Better than I can write and you will see By the Derry papers that my uncle William i s sending to you the state of the market [.] you will find there and you may consider how farmers is fit to pay all Demand[s] [.] the perortant Protestant part of the population seem to Leave Ireland to the papists But I Beleive the Lord reigneth Let the world Rejoice and Isles and inhabitants thereof [.] still times is bad in Ireland and if you think that we could live with more ease and comfort we would be willing to encounter the Dangers of the passage and journey with the Blessing of Divine Providence[.] I have Nothing to write that I know of at present But Remains your affectionate Nephew Till Death William Mc Arthur My Mother and sister Jaine, me and all your old freinds in the most affectionate manner to you and all our unknown Freinds Whilst I Remain yours Truly Please if you Deign to Give me an answer I will write more full in the Next To Mr John Andrew or Robert McArthur Meadville Crawfords County Pennsylvania |
