My dear Uncle,
As Papa is so busy today I will take
the pleasure of writing to you. I hope Grandma
is getting better. We received letters from home
on Monday, and Marian said she was getting better.
Papa got a letter from Uncle John, and one from
Aunt Lillie yesterday. Uncle John is quite well,
but, Aunt Lillie has just recovered from a billious
attack ; she is at present in Jackson, Mich [Michighan?]
county stopping out at Mr. Woods house there. Papa has
got Mr Corry's ship the Charger away today : and is so
very busy. I hope Grandma will be spared to we come
home, we will may be bring Uncle John with us
I hope your crops are good, it is very warm here
now. I read in the paper yesterday, that the
thermometer in Halifax was 135 degrees ; how would you like
that in Ireland? I wrote home to Bangor to day, and
Papa has to write to Mr Dixon, Mr Corry and Others
I am enjoying myself very much here. I hope Aunt
Jane, and yourself are well. I send my kind love to
Granmamma Papa joins me in kind regards to all friends
Excuse this scrawl of a letter) I remain your affectionate
nephew James Carse
