Transcript | Dear Cousin ... I should fancy that from any part of Lake Erie it would be more commodious & less expensive to come through Canada — I left this town [Cork?] for New York in an American ship, paid for my passage 30.0.0 pounds [all?] round m everything including wine etc. I returned in a British ship from Quebec procuring a Cabin berth for 10 pounds to find [for?] myself, which I did for 15 pounds, much better than I could expect from ... My brother James at present resides in the country two miles from Quebec ... [Endorsed]: A true copy of the original by John Greeves Jnr, who wishes his brother Wm & sister Ann a quick and pleasant voyage to old Ireland, once more to have the pleasure of seeing their deaf relations & connections. |
