| Transcript | Friendsville 16 2 mo [1822] "Thos left on 10th of last month for Pittsburg on foot to try & settle Wm Heazelton's affairs — he went thro' Wilksbarre but only stopped about 2 hours at Uncle Sin tons — Uncles Jo & Jacob & Phebe were at home. Thy aunt spending the winter with James in Easton — Our timber is hemlock, beech, hard & soft maple, birch, cherry, oak, chesnut, pine, blackbirch & a little elm —." Mentions the following prices for which William had asked him: Wheat in trade 1 dollar - cash 75 cents Rye & Corn 50 cents Pork 5c or 6c per lb. Butter 12'/2 Hay 1 dollar p ton Sugar 6 to 9 dollars per 100 lbs. Grazing Cows 16c or 18c per week Horses 25c Chopping 5 dollars per acre.
