Transcript | New York 12 mo 18th 1841 My dear Maria, I wrote to thee on the 22d Ult. and have since received thine to Rebecca dated 28th and the 6th Inst taking eight days to come We concluded of course that mine would reach thee two days after, and that Joseph would be here long before this time. We do not know how to account for the delay, whether something may not have happened to him. I would be glad thou would write on receipt & say how it is. In mine I mentioned that Rebecca had gone to Mobile with some of our particular friends to spend the winter. We have heard occasionally from them on their way out (and getting on…). I shall mention to her the receipt of thy letter. The rest of our family are much as when thou left us & join me in love to thee. Please also remember me affectionately to thy Father & Mother. I have not yet received any reply to my letter to thy Uncle Samuel Sinton. Thy afft Cousin A Bell |
