Transcript | My Dear Mother, I did not intend to have written any more this time but there was a young man in the office just now from Lisburn, Ireland - he is acquainted with Grandfather and Aunts Jane and Susanna and says that "Miss [Jane] Greeves has got a very wealthy husband & I think the other Miss Greeves [Susanna] will be married very soon to Mr. Halliday because he is there every evening and they are always walking about together". It was news to me and I thought thee would like to hear it. They were well. I forgot to tell Maria chat I saw a friend have a letter for her that went on to Buffalo last first day, but did not learn who it was from. Please inform me and whether you have heard from Ireland. With love to all I remain thy affectionate son Joseph |
