Transcript | [4616 Bayard Ave. Pittsburgh, Pa.] 9th December Tuesday night My dear Jim, This is the first night since I got your last letter that I felt able to answer it. I headed the sick list this time. Though not laid up in bed, I suffered the most intense pain from a swelled face resulting from a cold caught very probably one Sunday night coming home when it was trying to snow and rain at the same time. It settled principally on my ear (the outside) which had to be lanced. My, what did I suffer! Poor Ellen was nurse and a good one too. I went around with my various duties as best I could, but am glad to say that I feel so much better tonight. I thought of you a lot, Jim, and I hope ye» are well, so I must now finish hoping my next note may be longer, but you know you have my love anyhow and accept this scribble. Good night and write me soon. fondly as ever Annie |
