| Transcript | Mount Melleray Oct. 21st, 1864 I received your letter on yesterday which gave me great happiness to hear you are all going on well and in perfect harmony and filled with the Spirit of Religion. I was also very glad to see that you are planning [?] endeavouring [?] to lay up for yourself in Heaven a store which shall meet you on the last day when all the vanities of the world will have passed away and nothing will remain but whatever we have done for our poor souls and when we must give a strict account of all our precious time. May God enable and inspire you all to be prepared for that awful day. I was sorry to hear of that sickness that's in the neighborhood. I hope it will soon pass away. May God grant it and protect my sister and her family. All that you mentioned will receive prayers, both living and dead. I was glad to hear that my brothers in America is well. May God protect them all and do for them. My dear Mother, I am perfectly well and happy in my holy state and never can forget the goodness of God for bringing me from the world and also this anxiety of you to cooperate with His heavenly call. Now that I am in a paradise free from the world and its many snares, I hope you won't forget joining me every day to thank God for his goodness to me. Dear Mother, you did not mention what your Intention was for the holy sacrifice of the Mass, but you need not be uneasy about that. I know your Intention. It is for all graces necessary for a happy death and everlasting salvation. Mass will be offered for you on Sunday at ten o'clock. I hope you will be good enough to return thanks to God for all His Blessings to you and to us all. And never neglect on any account while you are able to attend at the holy sacrifice of the Mass and there beg of God all the graces you stand most in need of and all the graces necessary to spend the week well and God will bless you all. I hope that Denis is going on well. Let him not be foolish but attend to your Council and also poor Mary. I hope she is good. And I will never neglect day or any hour to pray for you all, and I hope the time won't be long till we will all meet in our Heavenly home, where in transports of joy we shall behold our Glorified Lord and sing with unceasing raptures His immortal praises.
