Transcript | 27 January 1819 New Orleans 27th of Feb [February?] 1819 Dear Mother I wrote to you by the ship abigal [Abigal?] for Liverpool which I hope you have received, these few lines is merely to let you know not to send anything to me by the Parker and Sons Captain Henry Hodgson as there is a young man John Bruce of Limavady son to Henry Bruce of said Town who I have taken a Passage for in the Cabin of the Ship Edward Downs of Belfast by order of Mr. Henry Bruce of Kentucky Captain of the Washington Steam Boat running from that place to New Orleans and son to Mr. Henry Bruce of Limavady this is a fine opportunity for sending what you have to send me with Mr. John Bruce as he can fetch it as his own and save Expenses he can enter himself as a farmer and my Tools as Package I have as good Health as ever I had in Ireland, though not so with every one that comes [torn] I expect these few lines will meet you all in good Health and remain your affect.
