Transcript | Chatham July 16 /88 Edward McCarthy Dear Ned You will think it strange of me to ask you for the lend of Jims picture I am trying to have one copped it will be so nice for the children to look at when we are all dead I got one of his pictures from Tom McCarthy but the eyes are so dull that you can harly notice them the man said if I could get the lend of them pictures from you he would try to paint a picture right away, there is not much work in now he is a splendid hand to paint I saw one of Dr Bensons and Miss [Strangs], his name is Frost bookkeeper in W.S. Logies store. I hope you wont refuse the first favour I asked of you, and the will be returned safe to you we are all well with regards from Mrs. Jas. McCarthy |
