Transcript | Lower New[damage] Mar. 2 [th]1903. Dear Brothers we got your kind and welcome letter a Monday night and was glad to hear that you were both well we are all pretty well at present. I dont think that you could have had our last letter the time that you wrote there was one from Ned to we mailed them the 24th. The weather was pretty fine until Saturday it commenced to rain it rained nearly all day it took away a lot of the snow every place is all water but it froze pretty hard a Sunday night. Saturday was election day the pollen ground was at Sullivans Three of the opposition fellows are in John Morrissys [damage]ld Morrison and W. S. Loggie and Tweedie on the Government side that is what we heard tonight. I had a letter from Uncle Mike last week they are all pretty well he is fifty miles from home he is putting machinery in a mill. He says nearly all the mills out there are stopped for the want of lumber all the pine is cut. He says it is no place out there for men some are going South and [damage] are going West. He says that ye never wrote to him since ye went to Maine. It is pretty dull around here this winter hardly ever see a horse on the ice. Jim is still sawing away at the birch Mahoney and Bruce are in good friends this winte[damage] How do you like to drive the horses out there. how long hours do you have to work and how does Tom like what he is at. Mamma says to tell ye to take care of yourselves on the mountains. I have no news much worth writing this time. I expect you will have the other letters before now. Joe Nugent is home from [firen] this few days it was so hot he could not stand it he is not very well I dont know whether he is gone back or not. There There is a young son down at Big Jims weights 13¼ lbs they are all pretty well. Jack Morman is not through haullen off yet. I think some of the Foxes will soon be through. [damage]ite Soon and let [damage] know how ye are getting along. Ned wasnt out to the election. Every thing was very quiet out at Sullivans. the old woman is pretty well just now. Johnnie [is] I was dreaming the other night I seen you taking the horse to water. Tom you never think of writing, write soon How far are ye from where Ye were before.
