Transcript | Lower NewCastle Mar 10th 1903 Dear Brothers I received your kind and welcome letter and was glad to hear of you being well we are all pretty well at present. We are having pretty fine weather it rained some a Sunday it is [begging] to look like spring. Sullivans are just about the same old way. Father went in today to see Ned we will let you know the next time what he is doing. All the Foxes & Connells are about done only Mike Fox he has two or three weeks hauling yet. Sandy Russell is with him now. Jack Morman is not through hauling off yet. Jim is still sawing birch Jack Smith bought another horse. Old Bob came back last Friday he is cooking now the men hardly spoke to him when he came back. Philiph left a good spell ago and he never went back him and Mick Lynch are cutten and haulen box wood now. Jim Craig left the mill and Cowie started one day and Jim brought him back again Allin is tryen to push them. Joe Nugent has quit work he is not very well. Jim Cathil is a way home to the Island. Albert the sailor is going to be around the house now I think. Old Agnes up at the cove is pretty sick. It is raining today Wednesday I have no news to send you this time We are all well and are glad to hear of ye being well take care of yourselves and don’t work too hard. Write soon from Katie C.
