| Transcript | Lower NewCastle Mar 27th 1903 Dear Brothers I write you those few lines to let you know that we all pretty well and hope to find you the same. We are glad to hear that ye are off the mountains. What are ye working at now. It is beginning to look like spring here just now neary all our field is stripped we have had quite a lot of rain here this month. They are still crossing on the ice but it is getting pretty bad. All the Connells and Foxes are through in the woods Michael Quigley in Bartibogue is pretty poorly The priest was in this week he is a little better now. Bishop Rogers died last Sunday morning and was buried on Thursday. I guess it was quite a funeral. Old Agnes that was up at the cove shifted down to Old Kittys. Mike was in to Neds the other day he is just the same as always. They are still sawing at the mill Joe Nugent went back to the Mill I don’t know anything more that is worth writing. I only have a few minutes to write it, Tom if I was handy to you I would make you write some I think. Dont work to hard and take care of yourselves. Every body is just about the same as always only Douglas Russell he is sick this week the doctor says it is a mild case of typhoid fever it is from drinking the bad water. They say that the smallpox are in Tabusintac. All sends there compliments to ye both please excuse bad writing and all mistakes Write and tell us what ye are at I suppose ye got the letter ye got that willie sent ye from Sullivans they are just about the same.
