I take the Liberty of writing those few Lines to you hoping to find you in good Health as this
Leaves me in at present thanks be to God I had good Health since I arived here and plenty of
work You will have to Excuse me for not writing before now indeed it was neglect on my Part
for not doing so I am very glad that you did not come out here it is better stop by the Land they are comeing here and dieing in Dozens their is not a vessal comes here but the feaver is on Board, write when you receive this and Let me know how the Family is and also all my Old neighbors, Catherine McGovan of Gurthnahowle died of feaver also Paddy McGowan of
Drynahon Paddy Clanceys Daughter Biddy Frank McSharey’s wife, Paddy McGowan of
Gurthnahowle is Lyin ill of the Feaver, Lit Molly McGowan know that Denis O’Donnell & Wife
are well, I stop with them and Margaret went to Boston the day Before Landed here their is no account from her as yet Let me know how the times are at home and how the markets rate and if the crops are good. Let none of you attempt to come here this season as there are so many here and the Feaver is in every House almost It is a good place for young people but there are Enough at present until next summer, tell Andey McSharry he would do Better here than at home Let come next Summer the People are Lying out here on the shores under sheads and going to the grave numbers of them every day. Let Paddey Connoley know that his Son & Daughter are in good health I intend to go to the states in Springs if I dont Change my mind. Markets rate as follows Potatoes 1s.3d. p stone Butter 1s. 3d. p Pound flower for 196 Pounds 35 shillings Eggs 8d. Write Imedeately and direct to the care of John Koen Portland Bridge st.John NB., for me.

P.S. Biddy McSharrey is in good Health. Frank McSharrey and Family are getting well of
Feaver. Larry Runian and wife are on the Iland and sister ill of feaver. Mrs. Dolan Connor and
familey are well the Husband is in the states.
