Dear Brother
Father has this sheet wrote (sic)
about a week and not finished yet but I expect
you have all the news you want by this time

We have not got that picture yet but its [it’s]
Likely on the road I suppose you are back at
school now for another term all teachers
and scholars has (sic) their holidays here now
We have Maggie and Lizzie from Gortin
since Sunday they will stop another week
Lizzie is a lively little girl there is nothing
too hard for her
We have heard some word that Miss Dunbar
will give us a call some day on the bicycle
but we are not sure as she never wrote nor
we don’t [don’t] much care whether she does or not
There is nice harvest weather here now a
good many is (sic) done cutting we have up the burn
to commence yet but it was not ripe any sooner
You may think notepaper was scarce when
you get a sheet like this : but it was some notion
father took to write on this There is no particular news
So Good Bye [Goodbye?] for the present
