to us all – while many around us

Ann Ballantine survived a fue [few?]
days longer after I last wrote But
she was carried to her long home on
the 4 August the funeral was large-
Mary Jane Smyth is Dead and Buried
after a Day or two illness She was
carried to her long home on Monday 10th
August So I suppose [suppose/] every
letter I send takes some fresh Deaths
with with [sic] it we then ought to be
thankful for helth [health?] and strength
and being spared in the land of the living
and in the place of hope while so many is
Being called away to meet their final Doom –
May we all Be prepared for that important
change.
