Transcript | David 45 yrs [years?] 26 William 18 David 8 Eskeradoey [Eskeradooey?] September the 8th 1825 Dear sons James, Joseph and William I take this in a Good state of health and [----?] were all the family at the present time and we are in hopes that these lines may find you both in the same and together when this comes to hand I have to inform you That we had an account in Isac, Cooks letter spacifying [specifying?] the Pasage [passage?] and of William engaging a Conveyance for Pittsburg and where the were whilst in Philadephia Dear sons I have to let you know that James your Brother is got married to Jean Mckane about the 12th of July last and I have some notion in giving to them the half of Rosnamuck in the corse [course?] of some time I have with some regret that John has taken a strong notion of going to you on the begining [beginning?] of May next and it has [thrice?] win to a Deep concern what to do for my part I would wish to be with you my self if it was possible that you could give me any Certain incouragement [encouragement?] of a comfortable settlement in that Country where we could be all to gether for Contentment me or your mother could not find after you and then having none of a family thin [then?] but I am and he not being all to assist us in any purpose wither by trade of labour on account of his youth we then we would be both lonley [lonely?] and Destitute of every thing I have to day that Every thing is Doing Tolerable well in this Country at present Cattle of every Discription [Description?] is giving good prices and other materials accordingly and I consider that if I was to sell off all my property that I could gather as much money as would be sufficent to establish us in a good situation in any part of that Country but still altho [although?] my uneasiness would be great after you wither you were to give me a Certain incouragement [encouragement?] in going to you I would not like to be two [too?] headstrong or go against what you may advise me to Dear sons as I hope you are to gether I expect that you will ever Remain in that friendly state of Brotherhood becoming to Humanity and as you are so far seperated [separated?] from us you may be well assured that it will still be the greatest happiness to us in hearing of your health and attachment to each other and the Great Consideration most worthy of your reflectionsd not to Depart from the Dictates of your Divine master which is able to subverse and encounter every approaching Danger [there?] is not any thing much worthy of mentioning this neighbourhood since William [Departed?] only that Willm [William?] kelly and Eliza mitchel is married lately in Case of any of you having an opportunity in seeing Isac [Isaac?] Cook you may let him know that all his friends is well give my kind and affectionate love to my sister Sara and let her know that I still live in hopis [sic] to have the heart felt happiness of seeing her yet Dear sons me and your mother and Brother Joins with our most sincere and affectionate love and Regard to you and we all Request that as soon as this comes to hand that you will write to us amedeally [immediately?] as we will sustain the greatest uneasiness untill [until?] such times as we receive an answer I will [Discantener?] at and ever Remain your affectionate father David Cook Remember my sincere Regard to Mr. John Mckine and acquaint him that all his friends are in good health To Mr. Joseph Cooke sen.
