To the Minister or Rector of Lisnakay [Lisnaskea?]
Church

Dear Sir
Will you be so kind
to hunt the Marriage Records
of the Church for the marriage
[of?] Jane Scott the daughter of
George and Jane Scott who
was joined in wedlock to
James Cox by the Reverend
Mr. Hurst about the year
35 or from that up to 1840
as near as we can recollect.
The reason we want the
record of the Church and the
seal attached is that during
the late War between the
north and south she had two
sons in the Union Army
and was killed in the
service. Her husband died
in 1880 and she is trying to
get a pension for the death of
her son who was killed in
the war. Her marriage certificate
being lost she has to
have a copy of it from your
church with the seal attached
or it would not be of any account
if you would forward the
same to me you would be
doing me a great favor [favour?]
Please be kind enough to send
it as soon as possible as it
is necessary to have it as
soon as she can get it and
you will oblige me very much

address
Mrs Rose A. Cox
627 North 36th Street
Phila [Philadelphia?] Penn. [Pennsylvania?]

We hope to Know your name
in the future and will give
you the particulars and
hope to get acquainted

Please do not forget to
have the seal of the
Church on it as it is of
no value to her without it.
