[County ?] Mich [Michigan ?] March 10 – 1887 Dear Brother ; I often think of you though we seldom write to each other, I am getting to be an old man and in all probability this may be my last letter to you to day I am in the city of Charlotte Eaton Co. [County?], on a visit to my daughter Rose A Sibley, Mr Sibley having rented his farm in Calhoun Co [County?] and bought a house and lot in Charlotte, my health has been rather poor for sometime I thought a change for a short while might be a benefit, hence the change, my children are all gone but my youngest daughter her husband works my farm on shares that is I give one half of all crops grown on the farm I own all stock say six head of horses old and young two cows forty sheep giving my son in law one half of increase of stock, this gives me a good living and money in my pocket.- My son James living in Calafornia [California ?] has a wife and two children he is Superintendent of an Ice company he has got to be well off my two daughters Maria and Marin [Marion?] dd (sic) twins are now in cal [california?] Fra [Francis?] my youngest boy in Dakota farming has a wife and one child My youngest daughter at home has three children Mrs Crawford and I live by our selvs [ourselves ?] but not altogether quiet as the three children furnish all the musick [music ?] we want I will send you some papers that may interest I get a great deal of the Irish news in the papers. If you get my papers I hope you will send me some of the Ballymena papers if you take them I care not if a week old or after being read, I see by the papers that we are going to be supplied with Astralia [Australia?] rabbits we dont want any. I had a letter from Ohio lately they are all well. I hope to hear from you ere long how is your health also Mrs Crawfords health how I would like to have both of your likeness not to late yet as I have bought a nice new album that I want filled - Remember me to my friends, Love to all Gamble Crawford P S When you get my letter please remember me to my friends [worn] and family let me know they are all well, I have [worn] to do now but write to my [worn] I intend writing to brother Chas [Charles?] I hope they are all well also Sister Holden G.C.
