Allen Esq No. 8 Wellington Place Belfast Ireland P[per?] Ward [Shipman?] 16 MR 1848 [16 March 1848?] LIVERPOOL SHIP [arrival mark?] BELFAST MR 18 1848 Mng [Arrival 18 Mar 1848 datestamp?] Ansd [answered?] 23 Mar per Ward Chipman Savannah 15th February 1848 Dear Sir By direction of our mutual friend R. Campbell Esq. of Augusta, I have purchased and shipped per ship "Georgia" a first class american vessel, and new, James [Gillills?] master, bound for Liverpool, fifty four bales of upland cotton, respecting which I am instructed to give you "timely notice" that you "may effect insurance" "for each interest as" he shall advise. The first cost of this parcel will be about thirty dollars per bale exclusive of charges. I have forwarded by same conveyance 240 bales of cotton recd [received?] from Augusta, and included in the bill of lading with the other parcel, which Mr Campbell informs me to be an equal account of yourself and your uncle [James?] Campbell.
