Transcript | E M I G R A T I O N. Prospects of Emigrants in Canada. THE following is an EXTRACT from a Letter received by Mr. Foy, Commissioner of Emigration for the Dominion of Canada, from Mr. Donaldson, Immigration Agent in Toronto:- "Toronto, 19th April, 1875. Dear Sir - Our busy season is now fast approaching - indeed, we have already had a large number of immigrants, and early as they arrived they all got immediate employment. Prospects never were better for emigrants to Canada. Contractors for the Pacific Railway have commenced operations. We had a requisition for 1,000 labourers for this work. As your are aware, a large appropriation was made by the Dominion Parliament for Public Works. Some 15,000,000 dollars for enlargement of canals alone, |
