Dear Children
I received your kind and welcome letter on the 2nd of July
which gave us a great deal of satisfaction to hear
that yous [you?] are in good health as these few lines laves
[leaves?] your mother brothers and sisters in the same at
present Thanks be to God for His mercies to us
Dear Children We cannot inform yous [you?] as yet how
the land will be set or who will get land in
it but the mountain is a ditching in ten akers [acres?]
=farms at the present time and the reason of
William not gowing [going?] out to yous [you?] this season
was in consequence of Hughs illness and us getting the
crop this season as usuall [usual?] We ware [were?] not able
to send him out to yous [you?] Dear John you wanted
to know whare [where?] Hugh was, He is at Home
since last May was a three years and byeing (sic) bad [?]
Almost till this present time and at present
He is in away of recovery and ownly [only?]
for that Both him and William was [would be?] with you long
agou [ago?] sow [so?] that the expence [expense?] of his long
illness Was mostly the reason of them not being with
yous [you?] long agou [ago?] but Hughey says that he will

send for them and you know yourself what they would stand

Enjoys good health at present and has one child

any person in this world and as for Henery [Henry?]
He is a fine Promising youngue [young?] man and gives his mind to
To his trade All your friends in Ballaugh [Ballagh?] are
All well and sends their cind [kind?] love to yous [you?] Alsow
[also?] you wanted to know where Thomas
Armstron [Armstrong?] was he lives within one mile and
a half of Pourtsmouth [Portsmouth?] in the United States
The country here is in athrewather [a throughother?]

To have the parliment [Parliament?] back to Dublin again
[torn] Connel [O Connell?] has a parliment [parliament?]
house built in Dublin and allows it will be there before
Cristmus [Christmas?] Markets are here as follows meal
from 7 6 per hundred [7 and 6 ?] to 8 and potatoes 1/4 per
stone beef 3 the [per?] pound Butter from 5/2 to 6 the [per?] pound
Everything else cheet [cheap?] and you
mentioned in your letter that some of your friends there
