| Transcript | Mr C or A Duffin Mr Carleys Antrim Oakland August 26 Thursday September 4th 1828 My dear Boys In compliance with your wish, that I should soon write to you, I now sit down to do so, altho [although?] I have not anything to say farther than that we got safe home and found [Jack?] [continued?] better, altho [although?] he is still very poorly, Dr Patrick saw him yesterday he thinks tis [it is?] some kind of [low?] fever he has, but does not by any means consider him in a dangerous way, so that I hope he may soon get better - I hope you got early off yesterday morning and that Mr Carley was not displeased at your remaining so long, did you tell Mr C. [Carley?] your Fathers wish and mine, that you should commence learning to play the flute, if there is any one there can teach you - now we have got fine weather again you will I suppose walk out a good deal, but I request my dear boys that when very long walks are proposed you may ask permission to [amuse?] yourselves at home tell Mr Carley tis [it is?] my wish, and I am sure you will be allowed - God bless you may health and happiness ever be with you, is the prayer of your truly affectionate mother [Mrs?] Duffin write to me very [soon?] |
