| Transcript | Revd [Reverend?] A J Kirkpatrick Rector of Craigs Co Antrim Ireland Dysart, Jan [January] 24th 1896 Revd A J.Kirkpatrick Dear Old Master I take the liberty of writing to you on account of my mother, by [her] last letter she is not as comfetable [comfortable]? as she might be she says she has not sufficent [sufficient] clothing [clothing] to ceep [keep] hir [her] warm, and as I have been sending a little money twice a year although not enough [enough] to ceep [keep] hir [her?] if the others was doying [doing] any thing it would be a good help, but it may be as she is geting [getting?] old she emagines [imagines?] things are worse with hir [her?] than the [they] realy [really?] are I asked hir [her?] who she was living with and how she was cept [kept?] but she did not say only to say she got the money all right [alright?] but I am [afraid?] it gos [goes?] for some thing else than hir [her?] benfit [benefit?], and now Dear Sir I enclose to you P.O. [Post Office?] order for ten dollars payable to you and if it is not [too?] much truble [trouble?] if you would pleas [please?] see that she gets it for hir [her?] own use as she needs it. and I will be thankful to you not only fo [for?] this but all your formere [former?] kindness to us. I hope Dear sir that all is well with you and that god will bless your endeavours to do good I am being left alone now. my good wife died three years ago, cince [since?] the two of the children has maried [married?] and another has gon [gone?] on a farm of his own.
