Transcript | Dear Annie I thought as Thomas was writing I might as well write too. I was very glad to hear from you I have a very bad cold have had it for three weeks past. one day it is better and the next it is worse. I have a bad cough and I keep every body in the house awake at night by my coughing although I can sleep peacefully. this is a lovely day the sunshines so bright Thomas is sleeping as sound as a log he seems to enjoy a good sleep on Sunday after noon Detroit 4th March 1890 To Miss Annie Weir Recd [received?] your very welcome letter I am in good health at present. Ada has a bad cold. My mother states in a letter received a few days ago that they are having a great deal of sickness in the old country and that the death rate has been higher this winter than it has been for forty years they have had very little frost or snow to purify the air We will be very glad to see you when you get your vacation never mind the moustache we will settle that little matter when we meet again. I was glad to hear that you go to Church for although I dont go often myself I like to see others going. We were expecting mama Holten in last week but she did not come I think she dont like to associate much with the Irish still she dearly loves me? And [oh?] how I love her in return I would like to hear from your sister from what I seen of her I am certain she can write a good letter. I do like to receive a letter with both news and sense in it I guess I will have to close and let my better half give you the remainder of the news. Hoping to hear from you soon and that I will see you in April I remain etc etc, Thomas Edgar 197 Porter St Detroit Mich [Michigan?] |
